Services We Provide

Lead-Based Paint Inspection

A surface-by-surface evaluation that identifies the presence and location of lead-based paint throughout the property. Ideal before purchase, renovation, or sale.

Lead Risk Assessment
A more comprehensive investigation that evaluates actual lead hazards in paint, dust, and soil, then provides options for reducing or controlling those hazards.

Lead Hazard Screen
A limited, cost-effective version of a risk assessment suited for properties in good condition. It can determine whether a full risk assessment is needed.

Project Clearances & Sampling

Post-abatement visual inspections plus dust (and, when required, soil) sampling to confirm that the work area meets applicable clearance standards. Our accredited professionals are authorized to perform these clearances under Louisiana regulations. All services follow current LDEQ and federal (EPA/HUD) standards for target housing and child-occupied facilities.

When You Need These Services

  • Pre-purchase – Identify lead risks before closing and avoid unexpected costs.

  • Pre-renovation or demolition – Protect workers and occupants and help meet EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) requirements.

  • Insurance or financing – Many insurers and lenders now require lead evaluations.

  • Compliance or child-occupied facilities – Meet state and federal rules for older buildings.

  • After abatement – Obtain proper clearance testing and documentation.

Lead-based paint remains a concern in many pre-1978 buildings, especially in the South where older structures are frequently renovated or repurposed. Regulations continue to evolve and often become more stringent, making professional evaluation essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an inspection and a risk assessment?
An inspection tells you where lead-based paint is present. A risk assessment tells you whether that paint (or related dust/soil) currently poses a hazard and what can be done about it.

Do you issue “lead-free” certificates?
No. We do not issue “lead-free” certificates or letters for any property.

How long does it take to get results?
XRF testing provides immediate data on-site. Full written reports are typically delivered promptly after the visit.

Do you perform lead abatement or removal?
No. SouthTech Environmental Group does not provide lead abatement, removal, or disposal services. We focus exclusively on inspection, assessment, screening, and clearance testing.
